MONROVIA-The Assistant Minister for Public Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Saywhar Nana Gbaa, has held a high-level diplomatic engagement with French Ambassador to Liberia, H.E. Isabelle Le Guellec, describing the meeting as productive and timely for advancing Liberia's national interests.

Assistant Minister Gbaa said the meeting provided an opportunity for a meaningful exchange on the state of Liberia-France relations and explored new pathways for deeper cooperation in investment, innovation, and sustainable development.

"As Assistant Minister for Public Affairs, I was pleased to meet with Her Excellency Isabelle Le Guellec, Ambassador of France to Liberia, for a meaningful exchange on Liberia–France relations and opportunities for deeper cooperation," Gbaa stated.

According to her, the discussion underscored a shared understanding that strong diplomatic partnerships must translate into concrete benefits for citizens. Both officials highlighted the critical role of investment, innovation, development cooperation, and people-to-people ties as pillars for a stronger bilateral relationship.

Gbaa noted that Liberia is at a defining moment where it must leverage its international partnerships to drive economic transformation. She told Ambassador Le Guellec that the Boakai administration is focused on turning diplomacy into development dividends — ensuring that every engagement attracts investment and creates opportunities for Liberians, especially young people.

The two officials also discussed the need to strengthen economic cooperation, with emphasis on attracting French investors to Liberia's agriculture, energy, infrastructure, and tourism sectors. Gbaa pointed out that Liberia offers enormous potential for French businesses looking to expand in West Africa.

On development, Gbaa commended France's continued support to Liberia through various cooperation programs and expressed optimism that the partnership can be scaled up to support Liberia's ARREST agenda.

The Assistant Minister further praised Ambassador Le Guellec as an experienced and committed diplomat, noting that her work has significantly contributed to strengthening the friendship between Monrovia and Paris.

"I particularly appreciated the opportunity to engage with an experienced diplomat whose work and engagement have contributed to strengthening the relationship between Liberia and France," She added.

Assistant Minister Gbaa reaffirmed that as Liberia continues to position itself for greater investment and sustainable development, strong international partnerships like the one with France will remain essential to turning opportunities into tangible results for the people.
