Monrovia-Acting Justice Minister and Attorney General of Liberia, Cllr. Betty M. Lamin-Blamo, has officially assumed leadership of the Ministry of Justice, pledging to uphold integrity, fairness, and impartiality in the discharge of her duties.

Cllr. Lamin-Blamo made the commitment on Thursday, September 10, during a formal transition ceremony held in the Conference Room on the 6th Floor of the Ministry of Justice. The ceremony brought together senior officials, employees, and key stakeholders from the justice and security sectors.

In her remarks, Cllr. Lamin-Blamo expressed appreciation to President Joseph Nyuma Boakai for entrusting her with the responsibility, describing her appointment as both an honor and a call to greater national service.

She also praised former Justice Minister and Attorney General Cllr. N. Oswald Tweh for his leadership and contributions to the Ministry during his tenure, noting that his service had provided a strong foundation for the institution.

The Acting Minister stressed that effectively advancing the mandate of the Ministry of Justice will require strong collaboration and collective commitment among institutions within Liberia’s justice and security sectors.

She specifically highlighted the important roles of prosecutors, the Liberia National Police, Liberia Immigration Service, the Bureau of Corrections and Rehabilitation, and other partners, emphasizing that their cooperation will be critical to achieving the Ministry’s objectives.

Meanwhile, former Justice Minister and Attorney General Cllr. N. Oswald Tweh expressed confidence in the ability of Cllr. Lamin-Blamo and Acting Solicitor General Cllr. Sillah to provide effective leadership and make a lasting contribution to the Ministry.

Cllr. Tweh urged officials and employees to extend their full cooperation and support to the new leadership, stressing the importance of unity, professionalism, and teamwork in strengthening the institution.

The transition ceremony was attended by senior management officials, representatives of justice and security institutions, and other stakeholders who gathered to witness the formal change in leadership at the Ministry of Justice.
